Australia’s most popular sport reality series, FOX8’s Football Superstar, is set to commence try-outs for young hopefuls across the country this month, as production gets underway on the hotly-anticipated third season of the FOXTEL exclusive series. Unrivalled worldwide in what it can offer budding sport stars, Football Superstar gives tomorrow’s stars of football the chance to begin on their road to superstar glory. Brisbane Roar will partner as the football club for series three, which means former Australian Youth team coach Angus Postecoglou will have the ultimate say of who is kept in and who is ‘kicked out’ as he puts 15 young sporting hopefuls through their paces to find Australia’s next Football Superstar.
Postecoglou said “There are a lot of kids out there with talent but what I’m looking for is someone with outstanding ability and technique. They must also possess the mental determination and vigour that sets them at the top of the game. If that person can keep himself in the forefront of our minds - he will be our ultimate winner.” Series Two winner Luke Pilkington’s career has continued to soar since he moved from his hometown of Canberra to start full time training with Melbourne Victory late last year. Pilkington said “Last December I played my debut match with Melbourne Victory against North Queensland. It was a massive personal achievement and my biggest career highlight so far. “The opportunity and exposure Football Superstar has given me has literally changed my life. I have gone from playing with my local football club in Canberra to training full time alongside professionals everyday. It doesn’t get much better than that. Anyone that is serious about a career in playing football should turn up for try-outs and give it a shot.” |
